How do I coil a climbing rope?

There are lots of methods for coiling a rope. We'll just share a few of our favorites.

When coiling a rope to hike with, use the single strand backpack coil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfvioMwTVUo

When coiling a rope to toss out for rappel, make arm length coils in your hand: https://youtu.be/9x8KV9OK7CU?t=4m45s

In high winds, stack the rope over your anchor tether and transfer the coils into a saddlebag: https://youtu.be/9x8KV9OK7CU?t=6m37s

When shuffling between routes at the crag, flake the rope in a bag or into a tarp and just carry that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiiTJuEGkXM
