What diameter pull-cord should I use?

If you're rappelling one or more long pitches and don't want to climb with twins or doubles, you can use a thin pull-cord and the biner-block method (aka Reepschnur Rappel) to make a full rope length descent.

We recommend 8mm static cord.

It's tempting to use really thin cord, but you'll find it too spindly and tangly. Anything smaller than 7mm is very likely to tangle or get blown around in the wind. It's also difficult to pull on which is important if there's a any friction at the anchor.

To save yourself time on multiple pitches, it's generally a worthwhile effort to coil this line and carry it in a pack than to trail it up behind you. For long single pitches, simply trail it.
